Responsibilities:

  • Own day-to-day Snowflake administration, including user and role management, access controls, warehouse configuration, resource monitoring, and operational support.

  • Monitor platform health, investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures to improve reliability.

  • Manage database objects and platform hygiene, including schemas, tables, views, retention settings, and obsolete resource cleanup.

  • Support data integration and connectivity with AWS services such as S3 and IAM, and relevant ingestion and processing tools.

  • Automate administrative tasks and operations using SQL, Python, scripting, and APIs.

  • Develop operational dashboards, documentation, and procedures for monitoring, incident response, access reviews, and cost reporting.

  • Collaborate with engineering, architecture, security, and business teams on platform architecture, upgrades, new capabilities, and enterprise data initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Extensive hands-on experience administering and supporting Snowflake in a production enterprise environment.

  • Strong knowledge of Snowflake architecture, virtual warehouses, micro-partitions, caching, query execution, and resource consumption.

  • Advanced SQL skills with demonstrated experience diagnosing and resolving query performance issues.

  • Practical experience implementing Snowflake RBAC, role hierarchies, grants, access policies, and secure access patterns.

  • Experience with warehouse sizing, workload management, cost monitoring, and compute optimization.

  • Experience troubleshooting production incidents and improving platform reliability.

  • Understanding of database administration, data governance, and enterprise security practices.

  • Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and produce clear technical documentation.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience integrating Snowflake with AWS S3, IAM, Glue, and enterprise data pipelines.

  • Python or shell scripting for automation and administrative tasks.

  • Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools.

  • Familiarity with Snowflake resource monitors, ACCOUNT_USAGE and ORGANIZATION_USAGE views, and query history analysis.

  • Experience with masking policies, row access policies, network policies, and authentication integrations.

  • Knowledge of workload management, multi-cluster warehouses, replication, failover, and business continuity.

  • SnowPro Core or Advanced certification.

  • Experience in financial services or other regulated enterprise environments.
