Job Description

We cannot accommodate C2C or 1099 JAVA UI/UX Engineer Location - Gaithersburg, MD
Clearance – TS/SCI (will be required to get a CI poly if they do not have, once they are read onto the program)
Onsite We are looking for a UI/UX Engineer to design and develop intuitive, user-friendly interfaces for mission-critical applications. This role combines UX design with hands-on front-end development.
This role will require strong back-end knowledge for End-to-End Capabilities. A UI/UX developer typically approaches problems from a human-centered design perspective (wireframes, accessibility, user flows), then applies their coding skills to make it work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop responsive web interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Build front-end applications using modern frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.
  • Translate complex technical workflows and user needs into simple, efficient interfaces.
  • Use Figma to create, review, and maintain UI designs and design patterns.
  • Apply WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and Section 508 accessibility principles.
  • Develop consistent design systems, reusable components, and style guides.
  • Work with backend developers, product owners, and end users to improve usability and functionality.
  • Gather user feedback and use it to improve the overall user experience.
  • Support front-end performance, testing, and deployment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 4–8 years of experience, or Master’s with 2–6 years.
  • Strong experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience with Angular, React, Vue, or similar modern UI frameworks.
  • Experience designing user-centered interfaces for complex applications.
  • Strong understanding of UX, usability, interaction design, and accessibility.
  • Experience with Figma or similar design tools.
  • Understanding of WCAG/Section 508 requirements.
  • Experience working in Linux-based environments.
  • U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI and ability to successfully pass a polygraph. Nice to Have:
  • REST API and backend integration experience.
  • Data visualization tools such as Grafana.
  • CI/CD and front-end deployment experience.
  • Agile development experience.
  • Experience with GEOINT or other data-driven applications.
  • Experience with Sketch or Adobe XD.
