Position: Project / Finance Controller

Contract: 12 Months

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Controller to support project execution through cost controlling, financial analysis, forecasting, and project data management. The Project Controller will collaborate with Commercial Project Managers, Project Managers, Finance, Engineering, Procurement, Production, and Supply Chain teams, with a strong emphasis on maintaining accurate project financials in SAP and related controlling systems. This position is ideal for an experienced contractor who can quickly contribute in a project-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support project cost setup and maintenance in SAP, including project structures, WBS alignment, cost plans, and project master data.

• Prepare and maintain Estimate at Completion (EAC) calculations by analyzing actual costs, commitments, estimates to complete, budget variances, and forecast changes.

• Identify cost overruns, savings opportunities, incorrect postings, budget adjustments, financial risks, and necessary cost corrections.

• Maintain approved cost plans and Estimate at Completion updates in SAP and other systems, ensuring consistency across reporting and controlling tools.

• Support monthly forecasting activities for project costs, revenue, gross profit, and cost-to-complete.

• Coordinate financial reviews and follow-up activities with Project Managers, Commercial Project Managers, and cross-functional project stakeholders.

• Assist with accruals/provisions, change documentation, ad-hoc financial reporting, and project closure activities.

• Improve and standardize project cost-controlling processes to minimize manual effort and enhance data accuracy.

Required Qualifications

• Professional experience in Project Controls, Cost Controls, Project Finance, Cost Engineering, or a similar project-oriented finance role.

• Strong understanding of cost planning, actual costs and commitments, Estimate at Completion (EAC), forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.

• Hands-on experience with SAP or a comparable ERP/project-controlling system, including WBS structures, cost data management, and financial reconciliations.

• Demonstrated experience in process optimization, standardization, or continuous improvement initiatives.

• Strong Microsoft Excel and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate financial discrepancies and drive issues toward resolution.

• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with cross-functional project and functional teams.

• Experience with SAP Project System (SAP PS) or a similar project-based ERP environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in engineering, manufacturing, EPC, or other project-driven business environments.

• Knowledge of digitalization and analytics tools such as Power BI, SQL, Alteryx, Power Query, or similar technologies is an added advantage but not mandatory.
