HR Advisor – Employee Relations
Location: Hybrid & Lichfield

Reporting to: Senior HR Advisor
About the Role
We’re looking for a knowledgeable and proactive HR Advisor – Employee Relations to join our HR team. In this role, you’ll provide expert guidance on a wide range of employee relations matters, supporting managers to resolve issues effectively while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment law.
You’ll take ownership of cases from start to finish, playing a key role in promoting fair, consistent, and legally compliant practices across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for managers on ER matters including disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence, probation, and flexible working
- Manage employee relations cases end-to-end, ensuring timely resolution and best practice outcomes
- Provide expert HR advice in line with employment legislation and company policy
- Prepare and review documentation such as investigation packs, invite letters, and outcome letters
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within HR systems and employee files
- Support absence management processes, including referrals to Occupational Health where appropriate
- Escalate complex or high-risk cases to senior HR colleagues when required
- Liaise with external bodies (e.g. ACAS, Police) in relation to ER cases where necessary
- Assist with Early Conciliation responses and employment tribunal preparation
- Identify safeguarding issues and support DBS referral processes
- Mentor and support junior HR team members
- Stay up to date with employment law and HR best practice
About You
- Proven experience in an HR Advisor or Employee Relations role
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and ER processes
- Confident managing a variety of cases independently
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and support managers
- Professional, discreet, and able to handle sensitive information
Desirable
- CIPD qualification (or working towards)
- Experience supporting complex cases or employment tribunals
