Product Manager – Store Systems

Role Summary
We are seeking a Product Manager – Store Systems to oversee the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of mobile device hardware and software capabilities that support store operations. This role is responsible for the experience surrounding handheld scanners, tablets, mobile applications, device management, onboarding, and operational readiness across the retail ecosystem.
The ideal candidate combines strong product management skills with experience supporting enterprise applications, mobile devices, hardware-enabled software solutions, or operational technology platforms. This individual will work closely with store operations, engineering, IT, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure mobile technologies are reliable, scalable, and aligned with real-world operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the product roadmap and lifecycle for mobile devices, including handheld scanners, tablets, accessories, and related store applications.
- Define requirements for hardware capabilities, device performance, connectivity, scanning functionality, battery life, durability, and usability.
- Partner with engineering and hardware vendors to support device integrations, barcode scanning functionality, software compatibility, and performance improvements.
- Lead initiatives that improve device onboarding, provisioning, configuration, software distribution, updates, and lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with store and field teams to identify operational pain points and translate them into scalable mobile solutions.
- Drive issue resolution related to device performance, application availability, connectivity, scanning, and user experience.
- Manage product backlogs, user stories, sprint planning, testing, pilot programs, and rollout activities.
- Monitor device health, operational metrics, telemetry, and support trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with IT and device management teams to improve security, compliance, remote support, and operational readiness processes.
Key Requirements
- 3-5 years of Product Management experience supporting enterprise software, mobile applications, operational technology, retail technology, or hardware-enabled solutions.
- Experience managing products that involve mobile devices, scanners, tablets, device ecosystems, or field technologies.
- Strong understanding of hardware and software integrations, mobile platforms, connected devices, or operational workflows.
- Experience working within Agile environments, including backlog management, sprint execution, and requirements prioritization.
- Proven ability to write user stories, define requirements, and manage cross-functional product delivery initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience influencing business, technical, operational, and vendor partners.
- Analytical mindset with experience leveraging system metrics, telemetry, adoption data, and operational reporting to drive decision-making.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting retail operations, field operations, franchise networks, or multi-location environments.
- Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM) solutions, device provisioning, application deployment, and endpoint management.
- Experience working with barcode scanning technologies, scanner SDKs, POS systems, or workforce productivity tools.
- Background managing hardware rollouts, operational technology programs, or device lifecycle initiatives.
- Experience collaborating with third-party hardware and software vendors.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
