Position Overview:

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a comprehensive and engaging Textiles curriculum to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. The role entails fostering a dynamic and hands-on learning environment that encourages creativity, design thinking, and practical skills development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver inspiring Textiles lessons that align with the national curriculum and the school's educational ethos.
  • Create a stimulating classroom atmosphere that promotes student engagement, collaboration, and independent learning.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to facilitate individual growth.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Design and Technology department and across the school to enrich the learning experience.
  • Stay abreast of current pedagogical approaches and developments in Textiles education and technology.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Textiles, Fashion Design, or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Textiles at the secondary level.
