<>Senior Webscale Platform Engineer — Kubernetes / OpenShift 1.6 Migration

<>About the Role The Webscale 1.6 migration is critical to modernizing our fleet of Webscale clusters. This upgrade ensures we maintain vendor-provided support for the platform and its add-on services. The migration includes both standard in-service upgrades and blue/green-style upgrades across the fleet. This is a hands-on engineering role responsible for planning and executing those upgrades safely and repeatably, keeping the platform and add-on services on supported versions while minimizing service disruption. <>What You’ll Do <>•      Execute the Webscale 1.6 platform migration across the cluster fleet using both standard in-service upgrades and blue/green-style upgrades. <>•      Plan, validate, and perform Kubernetes / OpenShift cluster upgrades while minimizing service disruption. <>•      Keep the platform and its add-on services on vendor-supported versions throughout the migration. <>•      Deploy, configure, and support Kubernetes / OpenShift distributions across the fleet. <>•      Automate upgrade and operational workflows using Bash, Ansible, and Python. <>•      Manage configuration and changes through Git / GitLab / GitHub and CI/CD workflows. <>•      Troubleshoot platform, networking (NFS, SDN), storage, and add-on service issues. <>•      Document procedures and runbooks and collaborate with the operations and deployment teams. <>You’ll Need to Have <>•      Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience. <>•      Demonstrated Linux system administration skills. <>•      Automation experience with tools such as Bash, Ansible, and Python. <>•      Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting various distributions of Kubernetes or OpenShift. <>•      Working knowledge of the Kubernetes API Server. <>•      Knowledge of NFS and networking fundamentals. <>•      Working knowledge of Git, GitLab, GitHub, and CI/CD workflows. <>•      Effective written and verbal communication skills. <>Even Better If You Have <>•      Demonstrable experience with SDN-related concepts and protocols. <>•      Virtualization and Linux certifications. <>•      Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting OpenShift. <>•      Experience with OVN-Kubernetes. <>•      Experience with Multus CNI. <>•      Experience with a service mesh to manage Layer 7 networking. <>•      Experience with Service Proxy for Kubernetes. <>•      Experience with NetApp storage solutions. <>•      Experience with object storage (SwiftStack / MinIO). <>•      Working knowledge of OpenStack.
