Job Description

Job Title: Financial Operational Consultant

Location: HYBRID position requiring 2 in-office days at local Client's office per week.

Duration- 5+  Month Contract

Role Overview

We are seeking FP&A practitioners to support the financial planning and analysis function of a technology organization. While these are newly created positions, the roles will initially absorb existing FP&A work currently handled by the internal team, freeing current team members to take on net-new initiatives. Each practitioner is expected to independently own a defined area of the portfolio following an initial onboarding period.

Importantly, these are not business-as-usual roles. Beyond executing established processes, we are looking for individuals who will actively drive process improvement, streamlining and making existing workflows more efficient so they can deliver more over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver core FP&A activities including forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis

• Review and interpret contracts, purchase orders, quotes, and vendor documentation to inform financial planning

• Partner with and engage cross-functional stakeholders including Finance, Product Operations, and other business groups to clarify requirements and explain forecasting rationale

• Own a defined area of work independently, driving decisions and outcomes with minimal day-to-day direction after onboarding

• Lead and drive stakeholder meetings, ask the right questions, incorporate feedback, and keep stakeholders aligned

• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce cycle time, enabling greater portfolio coverage

Required Qualifications

• Proven background in FP&A with a strong grasp of core financial concepts, planning, and forecasting

• Demonstrated ability to work with contracts, POs, and vendor quotes

• Experience engaging and managing stakeholders across multiple levels

• Strong communication skills able to explain the why behind forecasting approaches

• A clear process-improvement mindset, with examples of streamlining or improving existing processes

• Ability to operate independently and take full ownership of an assigned area

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in or supporting a technology / tech organization, providing perspective on the needs of a digital business

• Familiarity with Apptio (preferred, not required; the right candidate can be trained on the tool)
