Lead Agile Delivery Manager (SFIA 6) – Contract

Up to £590 per day Inside IR35

Clearance: BPSS minimum, SC desirable

We're looking for an experienced Lead Agile Delivery Manager (SFIA 6) to support the delivery of a high-profile digital transformation programme operating under significant business and ministerial scrutiny. You'll work directly with Deputy Director-level stakeholders, providing delivery leadership, strategic reporting, governance oversight and assurance across multiple teams and workstreams.

You'll bring extensive experience leading digital delivery within complex government or large-scale enterprise environments, driving delivery outcomes, managing senior stakeholders, identifying and mitigating risks and dependencies, and ensuring effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

A key part of the role is developing delivery capability across the wider organisation — coaching and mentoring Lead Delivery Managers, Senior Delivery Managers, Delivery Managers and Scrum Masters to improve delivery maturity, practices and outcomes.

Essential experience:

  • SFIA 6 level Delivery Management experience
  • Leading multidisciplinary digital delivery teams
  • Senior stakeholder management, including Deputy Director, Director and programme leadership engagement
  • Delivery governance, RAID management and dependency management
  • Roadmap planning, prioritisation and reporting
  • Operating within complex government or regulated environments
  • Coaching and developing delivery professionals
  • Driving continuous improvement across teams and programmes

Highly desirable experience:

  • Deep expertise in Kanban and flow-based delivery management, including WIP management, lead time, cycle time, throughput analysis and service-level expectations
  • Practical application of Monte Carlo forecasting to improve delivery predictability and confidence-based planning
  • Experience implementing forecasting approaches using Jira, Actionable Agile or similar tooling
  • Coaching and upskilling other delivery professionals in forecasting, metrics and flow-based delivery practices
  • Experience supporting ministerial commitments, high-profile programmes and executive governance forums

If you're a credible senior delivery leader who can quickly build trust with stakeholders, strengthen forecasting capability and lead confidently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, we'd love to hear from you.
