Data Scientist/Data Engineer

Data Scientist/Data Engineer Consultant needed urgently for our Consultancy client for an initial 5-month engagement starting in November to join a high-profile Consumer Intelligence & Analytics programme within a Financial Services organisation. The right candidate must have demonstrable experience as a Data Scientist/Data Engineer Consultant with strong Python, SQL, Machine Learning and Tableau expertise.

The role requires candidates to engage via an FCSA accredited Umbrella company. Candidates will be required to work onsite in London 2-3 days per week.

This role offers the opportunity to help shape how consumer risks, market trends and emerging harms are identified through the application of advanced analytics, machine learning and data engineering. Working within an Agile delivery team, you will develop innovative data products, predictive models, dashboards and intelligence solutions that directly support strategic decision-making and consumer protection initiatives.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong demonstrable commercial experience in Data Science, Statistical Analysis and Data Modelling.
• Advanced Python development skills for analytics, automation and machine learning.
• Excellent SQL skills, including working with large and complex datasets.
• Experience building, maintaining and optimising data pipelines.
• Proven experience developing machine learning and predictive analytics models.
• Strong Tableau dashboard design and data visualisation experience.
• Ability to translate analytical findings into actionable business recommendations.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience within regulated environments, particularly Financial Services or Public Sector organisations.

Desirable Experience

• Natural Language Processing (NLP) and text analytics.
• Consumer intelligence, customer insights or market analytics experience.
• Online listening, digital intelligence or alternative data sources.
• Cloud-based analytics platforms and modern data engineering practices.
