Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Electrical Designer (I&E Designer) with 10+ years of experience in Instrumentation & Electrical design, AutoCAD 2D, SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI), and InTools.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, Chemical, or other industrial projects and strong knowledge of API, NEC, and NFPA standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed 2D Instrumentation & Electrical design and drafting using AutoCAD.
  • Develop I&E deliverables using SPI and InTools.
  • Prepare Loop Drawings, Instrumentation Layout Drawings, Hook-up Drawings, JB Drawings, and Control Room FTA.
  • Develop electrical designs for low-voltage systems below 480V.
  • Prepare Area Classification Drawings, One-Line Diagrams, Power Drawings, and Grounding/Earthing Layouts.
  • Work directly with site operations, technicians, project engineers, and project teams to develop project scope.
  • Coordinate with site project engineering, document control, operations, and LTTS teams.
  • Interface with the LTTS design team in India for project scope discussions and design reviews.
  • Coordinate with vendors and incorporate vendor-specific information into I&E drawings.
  • Perform quality reviews and validation of final deliverables before submission to the client.
  • Coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines to meet project design requirements.
  • Manage design changes and ensure accurate flow of project information.
  • Follow all applicable site safety and health protocols.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of Instrumentation & Electrical Design experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AutoCAD 2D.
  • Strong experience with SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI).
  • Experience with InTools.
  • Field Instrumentation experience.
  • Experience with Loop Drawings, Hook-up Drawings, JB Drawings, and Instrumentation Layouts.
  • Electrical design experience, preferably below 480V.
  • Experience with Area Classification Drawings and One-Line Diagrams.
  • Experience with Power Distribution and Grounding/Earthing Drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and API standards.
  • EPC/EPCm experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.

Education

Diploma or Certificate in Instrumentation & Electrical Design is required.

Preferred Industry Experience

Oil & Gas | Refinery | Petrochemical | Chemical | EPC | EPCm | Industrial Engineering
