Job Description

Location: Saffron Walden (CB10) Type: Permanent Hours: 9am - 5:30pm (Monday to Friday) Salary: Circa 85,000 depending on experience Job Reference: 36349 We are seeking a Senior Electronic Systems Architect for our growing technology business based in the South of Cambridge to help develop and deliver advanced EW capabilities for the defence sector. This is a senior technical role combining deep EW expertise with broad systems engineering knowledge, covering the full lifecycle from opportunity development and system architecture through to delivery, integration, trials and customer demonstrations.

Security: UK DV and NATO Secret clearance required/obtainable Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical development of EW systems, products and capabilities - Provide technical leadership across bids, proposals and engineering programmes - Define system architectures and work across RF/electronics, software, signal processing and FPGA disciplines - Identify technical risks, opportunities and dependencies and drive solutions - Help shape the organisation's future EW technology and product roadmap - Engage with customers, government and defence industry stakeholders - Support UK and international trials, demonstrations and evaluations - Provide technical mentoring and expertise to the wider engineering team Requirements:
  • Significant experience in EW systems architecture or systems engineering, ideally within defence or advanced technology - Strong EW knowledge covering threats, operational environments, principles and architectures - Technical depth in one or more areas including RF/electronics, software, signal processing, FPGA or systems engineering - Proven experience leading technically complex projects, product development or bids - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills - Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment - Willingness and ability to obtain UK DV and NATO Secret clearance Desirable:
  • Maritime EW experience - Experience of UK/international trials and demonstrations - Established defence industry or government network - Previous technical leadership or line management experience Please contact us as soon as possible for more details or apply below!
