Contract: 5+ Month
Shift: 2nd Shift

Job Description:
The Human Resources Generalist will support day-to-day HR operations for the Port Hueneme location, with a strong focus on full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, employee records, benefits and leave administration, compliance, employee relations, and performance management. This is a hands-on HR role requiring someone who can effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruitment, including confirming headcount, coordinating requisitions, posting positions, reviewing resumes, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and maintaining applicant tracking documentation.
- Prepare offer letters, collect acceptances, and coordinate pre-employment requirements, including background checks and drug screenings.
- Conduct new hire orientation and prepare onboarding materials.
- Ensure new hire documentation is complete and employees are accurately entered into the HRIS.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding documentation and support temp-to-permanent employee conversions.
- Partner with HR, staffing partners, and hiring managers regarding candidate selection, hiring policies, and staffing needs.
- Provide regular updates on open positions, recruiting strategies, and hiring progress.
- Maintain HRIS records related to personnel, benefits, compensation, and employment status changes.
- Maintain employee files, generate reports, and assist with HR audits and compliance initiatives.
- Support benefits renewals and open enrollment.
- Administer and track FMLA, ADA, and other leave requests, including required documentation and return-to-work clearances.
- Support annual performance reviews and compensation adjustments.
- Provide employees and supervisors with guidance regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
- Investigate and assist with the resolution of employee issues and conflicts.
- Conduct periodic Form I-9 audits.
- Support job fairs and other recruiting activities.
- Process payroll as a backup when the Senior HR Analyst is unavailable.
- Support additional HR projects, meetings, and company initiatives as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor''s degree preferred.
- 12 years of direct Human Resources Generalist and/or recruiting experience required; 25 years preferred.
- Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, and wage/hour compliance.
- Experience working with HRIS systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and OneNote.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is preferred but not required.

Pay Transparency: "The expected pay range for this position is $25.00–$30.00 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. Non-exempt employees are eligible for overtime. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages. Packages may include medical, 401(k) without employer match. Paid Sick leave is provided based on state or local laws."
