Senior Salesforce Solution Architect

Role Summary

The Senior Salesforce Solution Architect is responsible for designing, delivering, and governing Salesforce solutions that align with business objectives and enterprise architecture standards. This role serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, high-performing, and maintainable across the Salesforce platform.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture

  • Design end-to-end Salesforce solutions across Energy & Utility Cloud, Experience Cloud, and integrated enterprise platforms.
  • Define solution architecture, data models, integration patterns, and non-functional requirements.
  • Ensure designs align with Salesforce best practices and enterprise architecture standards.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with business analysts, product owners, project managers, and business leaders to understand requirements and define solution approaches.
  • Translate business needs into clear technical designs and implementation plans.

Integration and Technical Leadership

  • Lead architecture for integrations between Salesforce and external systems, including APIs, middleware, and data platforms.
  • Provide technical guidance on Apex, Lightning, Visualforce, Flow, and platform design patterns.
  • Support development teams through design reviews, code reviews, and architecture governance.

Platform Governance

  • Establish and maintain standards for design, development, security, release management, and environment strategy.
  • Evaluate Salesforce products, AppExchange solutions, and third-party tools against business and architectural requirements.

Security, Performance, and Scalability

  • Design role-based access, sharing models, and data protection controls.
  • Ensure solutions meet performance, reliability, and compliance expectations.

Documentation and Mentoring

  • Maintain architecture documentation, solution diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Mentor developers, administrators, and junior architects on Salesforce best practices.

Delivery Support

  • Contribute to planning, estimation, risk assessment, and major design decisions across the delivery lifecycle.
  • Support solution delivery from requirements through deployment and post-go-live stabilization.

Technical Skills:

Salesforce platform expertise: Energy & Utility Cloud, Experience Cloud.
Strong understanding of Apex, Lightning Components, Visualforce, Flows,  REST/SOAP APIs.
Integration patterns: middleware (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Informatica), ETL tools, web services.
Data modeling, architecture design, and governance principles.
Experience with CI/CD, version control, and release management.
Knowledge of Salesforce best practices, security, compliance, and performance optimization.
Soft Skills:

Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical concepts to business stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Leadership and mentoring capability.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Salesforce experience, including 6+ years in solution architecture or technical leadership roles.
  • Experience designing and delivering Salesforce solutions in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience with Salesforce platform capabilities, including Energy & Utility Cloud and Experience Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of Apex, Lightning, Visualforce, Flow, and REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Experience with integration patterns, middleware platforms, ETL, and enterprise data architecture.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, version control, release management, platform security, and performance optimization.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Salesforce Application Architect or System Architect certification.
  • Salesforce Integration Architecture Designer certification.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I or II certification.
  • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) is a plus.
