Software Architect - AI & Java Platform
Hybrid opportunity in Boston, MA. A rapidly growing technology-driven organization leveraging artificial intelligence, automation, and cloud-native platforms to transform a highly regulated industry. This is a full-time Software Architect opportunity focused on enterprise architecture, AI enablement, cloud technologies, Java-based platforms, and scalable distributed systems.

This role is ideal for a technology leader who enjoys defining architectural strategy, influencing engineering direction, and building modern platforms from the ground up. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and business stakeholders to design solutions that drive innovation and operational efficiency. The position offers significant ownership, visibility, and the opportunity to shape the long-term technology roadmap of a rapidly evolving organization.
Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with significant architecture responsibilities
• Strong expertise with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and microservices architecture
• Experience designing scalable enterprise platforms and distributed systems
• Experience architecting AI-enabled applications, LLM integrations, and intelligent workflow solutions
• Expertise designing RESTful APIs, integrations, and service-oriented architectures
• Experience with AWS services including S3, RDS, Lambda, SQS, and SNS
• Strong understanding of observability, monitoring, system reliability, and performance engineering
• Experience creating architectural standards, governance practices, and technical roadmaps
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience within Insurance, FinTech, HealthTech, or other regulated industries
• Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging platforms
• Knowledge of vector databases and AI infrastructure patterns
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and modern DevOps practices
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and drive technical decision-making across teams
• Familiarity with modern frontend technologies such as React and Next.js from an architectural perspective
