in manufacturing, machine operation, quality-focused work, and learning a skilled trade within commercial printing. Prior print or bindery

experience is helpful but not required; Allegra is open to training dependable, coachable candidates with strong attention to detail and

mechanical curiosity.

What Is Bindery & Print Finishing?

In commercial printing, the bindery/finishing department turns printed materials into finished customer-ready products. After materials are

printed, they may need to be cut, folded, stitched, assembled, packaged, or prepared for mailing. This role supports the equipment and

production processes used to finish items such as brochures, mailers, booklets, marketing pieces, and other business communications.

Key Responsibilities

? Assist with setup, operation, and monitoring of print finishing equipment.

? Learn to support folding, cutting, stitching, die-cutting, inserting, packaging, and related production processes.

? Feed, stack, sort, inspect, and package printed materials throughout the production process.

? Check finished products for quality, accuracy, alignment, folds, cuts, defects, and overall appearance.

? Follow job tickets, production instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards.

? Communicate with Allegra production team members to keep jobs moving on schedule.

? Assist with basic troubleshooting when machines jam, slow down, or produce inconsistent results.

? Help with cleaning and preventative maintenance to keep machines and work areas safe, organized, and productive.

Equipment You May Learn

Training may include exposure to folding machines, paper cutters, saddle stitchers, die cutters, inserters or mail processing equipment,

packaging equipment, and other production machinery. Prior experience with MBO, Stahl, Muller Martini, Polar, or Heidelberg equipment is a

plus, but not required for associate-level candidates.

Ideal Candidate Background

? Manufacturing, machine operation, warehouse, distribution, packaging, fulfillment, assembly, or quality inspection.

? Mailroom, print shop, sign shop, production support, skilled trades training, or military logistics/maintenance.

? No printing background is required; the strongest candidates are reliable, detail-oriented, safety-minded, and willing to learn hands-on

equipment operation.

Qualifications

? High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

? Interest in hands-on manufacturing, production, or machine operation work.

? Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and comfort with repetitive accuracy-driven tasks.

? Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a fast-paced production environment.

? Dependable attendance, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn new equipment and safety procedures.

? Preferred but not required: prior production, warehouse, machine operation, fulfillment, quality, print, bindery, mailing, packaging, or basic

troubleshooting experience.

Physical Requirements

? Ability to stand for extended periods of time, including full production shifts.

? Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as needed.

? Frequent walking, bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, and movement throughout the production floor.

? Manual dexterity to operate machinery, tools, and controls, with visual attention to inspect printed materials for defects.

? Ability to work safely around moving mechanical equipment.
