Network / System Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network / System Engineer III - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
This role is responsible for the physical provisioning of servers, including racking, stacking, and configuration within a data center environment. The ideal candidate will coordinate with site support and vendors, track hardware assets, and validate configurations in ServiceNow. This is a hybrid position requiring three days onsite per week.
Responsibilities:

• Responsible for provisioning servers including racking, stacking, and configurations
• Track network and server hardware inventory
• Coordinate with local site support and vendors to rack, configure, and network servers
• Perform physical server validation
• Validate Configuration Items (CIs) in ServiceNow
• Work occasional weekend shifts as required during the year

Requirements:

• Experience with server provisioning, deployment, racking, and stacking
• Experience with server console management
• Proficiency with ServiceNow for asset tracking and configuration management
• Knowledge of data center operations support
• Experience with hardware inventory and asset tracking
• Mid-level Excel skills and strong attention to detail
• Strong project management and coordination skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Desired skills:

• ITIL knowledge
• Experience with enterprise server hardware and network infrastructure fundamentals
• Data center migration experience
• VMware or virtualization experience
• Hardware troubleshooting skills
• Experience with vendor management

Pay range: $58.31 - $66.31 per hour
