Job Description

  • Role: Field Installer L2/L3
    Location: Multiple locations across the U.S.
    Mandatory Requirement: Valid Real ID or Passport

     

    Allowances & Benefits:

    • One week of training will be conducted in Dallas, TX.

     

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Install, terminate, and test fiber optic and copper cabling including CAT5, CAT6, and coaxial cables.
    • Perform structured cabling activities such as routing, dressing, and labeling to ensure organized installations.
    • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues related to cabling and fiber optics.
    • Ensure proper power distribution including rack-level PDU installations, UPS systems, and grounding compliance.
    • Conduct maintenance, inspections, and upgrades for power and cooling systems.
    • Follow SOPs and industry best practices for cabling and power management.
    • Demonstrate understanding of fiber types, fiber ends, jumper/JPOI handling, and protection methods.
    • Operate OTDR and power meters for testing and validation.
    • Apply proper fiber cleaning and scoping techniques (splicing not required).
    • Maintain familiarity with DWDM and OME long-haul/short-haul circuits up to 100G.
    • Mount equipment in central offices, colocation facilities, huts, and outdoor enclosures.
    • Understand telecom color codes and perform wire wrap paired cable work.
    • Read and interpret engineering documents, MOPs, EDPs, and customer best practice documentation.
    • Work with AC and DC power systems including installing and verifying -48V leads while protecting live circuits.
    • Strip and crimp DC power leads safely.
    • Perform crimping of lugs and H-Taps.
    • Ensure safe power termination practices.
    • Apply electrical grease where required.
    • Use double-insulated torque wrenches and screwdrivers.
    • Maintain familiarity with telecom equipment vendors such as Ciena and Cisco (preferred).
