Job Description

Our client is looking to build their IT support function, looking for an IT Support Engineer to provide hands-on, on-site support and help the team through a peak period. The role will blend core deskside / EUC support within a Windows 11 environment (user issues, device readiness, and post-upgrade troubleshooting) to be based in London.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide 1st/2nd line on-site support for end users (walk-ups, deskside, remote where needed).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across Windows devices (laptops/desktops), peripherals, and standard corporate tooling.
  • Support Windows 11, including:
    • Pre-checks / device readiness and remediation (where required)
    • User support during and after upgrades
    • Post-upgrade fixes (apps, profiles, printers, access, performance)
    • Basic documentation / handover of common issues and resolutions
  • Manage and progress tickets through to resolution within agreed timelines; ensure clear ticket updates and user communication.
  • Assist with software installs, upgrades, and configuration (packaged installs and standard tooling).
  • Maintain good operational hygiene: knowledge articles, repeatable fixes, asset/user notes, and clear escalation details.
  • Work closely with wider IT teams (e.g., infrastructure, security, networks) to escalate and coordinate fixes where appropriate.
  • Follow good practice around data security, access, and compliance expectations.
