Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior webMethods Developer / Support Lead to design, develop, integrate, and support enterprise applications using Software AG webMethods. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in integration development, API management, production support, troubleshooting, and incident management, along with the ability to lead technical teams and coordinate with business and infrastructure stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise integrations using Software AG webMethods.

• Develop and support integrations using webMethods Integration Server, Designer, Universal Messaging, and related components.

• Build and maintain REST and SOAP web services and APIs.

• Develop and manage integrations using XML, JSON, XSLT, and other data transformation technologies.

• Provide L2/L3 production support for webMethods applications and integration platforms.

• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.

• Monitor integration workflows, message queues, service execution, and system performance.

• Manage incidents, problems, changes, and deployments in accordance with established IT processes.

• Lead production support activities, prioritize incidents, and ensure adherence to SLAs.

• Coordinate with application development, infrastructure, database, middleware, and business teams.

• Perform code reviews, technical documentation, deployment planning, and knowledge transfer.

• Identify opportunities to automate support processes and improve platform stability.

• Mentor developers and support engineers and provide technical guidance to the team.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Software AG webMethods Integration Server.

• Experience with webMethods Designer and Flow Services.

• Knowledge of webMethods packages, adapters, connectors, and integration patterns.

• Experience developing REST APIs and SOAP web services.

• Strong knowledge of XML, JSON, XSLT, and data transformation.

• Experience with webMethods Universal Messaging or Broker.

• Knowledge of JDBC adapters, database integrations, and SQL.

• Experience with enterprise application integration (EAI) and service-oriented architecture (SOA).

• Familiarity with messaging technologies such as JMS and MQ.

• Experience with production monitoring, incident management, debugging, and root-cause analysis.

• Knowledge of deployment processes, version control, and release management.

Production Support & Leadership Requirements

• Experience leading L2/L3 application or middleware support teams.

• Strong understanding of incident, problem, and change management.

• Experience managing critical production incidents and coordinating recovery activities.

• Ability to analyze recurring issues and implement preventive measures.

• Experience managing SLAs, support priorities, escalation procedures, and stakeholder communications.

• Ability to guide team members, coordinate shift handovers, and maintain support documentation.

• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with webMethods API Gateway and API management.

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.

• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.

• Experience with enterprise monitoring tools and ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow.

• Relevant Software AG webMethods certifications are an advantage.
