About the roleMiebach Consulting is seeking a Supply Chain Engineering professional to support the design and delivery of innovative supply chain solutions across North America. This role is ideal for an experienced engineering professional who combines strong technical expertise with client-facing consulting capabilities and is passionate about helping organizations improve their distribution, manufacturing, and logistics operations.

In this role, you will lead and support project workstreams, develop engineering solutions, collaborate with client stakeholders, and contribute throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with clients and internal project teams to analyze operations, evaluate technologies, develop facility and process designs, and support the implementation of strategic supply chain initiatives.

This position offers the opportunity to work with leading organizations across industries such as consumer goods, life sciences, retail, fashion and apparel, manufacturing, and logistics while continuing to build expertise in supply chain engineering, automation, and operational transformation.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupply Chain Engineering and DesignLead engineering workstreams for supply chain consulting and implementation projects from project initiation through final recommendation and implementation planningDevelop warehouse, distribution center, manufacturing, and logistics facility concepts and layoutsPerform operational assessments, process analysis, capacity evaluations, and future-state design activitiesDevelop labor models, throughput calculations, storage strategies, slotting concepts, and material flow analysesEvaluate automation technologies including ASRS, AMRs, conveyors, sortation systems, goods-to-person solutions, robotics, and warehouse execution technologiesSupport facility design activities from concept development through implementation planningPrepare engineering calculations, technical documentation, design recommendations, and executive-level presentationsDevelop business cases and investment analyses to support operational and automation initiativesClient Engagement and Project LeadershipServe as the primary day-to-day client lead for assigned engineering workstreamsBuild and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders across operational, managerial, and executive levelsFacilitate workshops, design reviews, project meetings, and stakeholder discussionsTranslate operational challenges into practical and executable engineering solutionsPresent findings, recommendations, and project updates to client leadership teamsManage project scope, schedules, deliverables, and priorities for assigned workstreamsIdentify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address client concernsSupport successful project delivery while maintaining high levels of client satisfactionSolution Development and Implementation SupportAnalyze warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, and material flow operations to identify capacity, productivity, and performance improvement opportunitiesDevelop facility layouts, material flow concepts, process designs, equipment requirements, and automation solutionsEvaluate material handling and warehouse automation technologies, including conveyors, sortation, AS/RS, AMRs, AGVs, storage systems, and related technologiesSupport equipment and automation vendor evaluations, solution comparisons, RFPs, and procurement activitiesPerform throughput, capacity, labor, and operational analyses to support engineering recommendationsContribute to distribution center design, facility planning, network optimization, transportation, and broader supply chain strategy initiativesSupport implementation activities including detailed design reviews, commissioning, testing, operational readiness, and go-liveDevelop recommendations that balance operational performance, capital investment, flexibility, and long-term scalabilityTeam Leadership and Practice DevelopmentProvide technical leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Consultants and AnalystsReview project deliverables and support quality assurance efforts across engineering engagementsContribute to proposal development, client presentations, and business development initiativesIdentify follow-on opportunities within existing client relationships and support account growth activitiesContribute to thought leadership, internal knowledge sharing, and practice development initiativesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Engineering, Logistics, or a related field5–10 years of experience in supply chain engineering, distribution, material handling, automation, manufacturing, or consultingExperience designing or improving warehouses, distribution centers, or material handling operationsExperience evaluating or implementing warehouse automation and material handling solutionsStrong analytical, problem-solving, client-facing, and project management skillsProficiency with Microsoft Excel and engineering analysis toolsWillingness to travel up to 40–60%PreferredConsulting or professional services experienceExperience with AutoCAD, AnyLogic, FlexSim, or similar toolsKnowledge of WMS, WES, WCS, and warehouse automation technologiesExperience with equipment/vendor selection, commissioning, or implementationLean, Six Sigma, PMP, PE, or other relevant certificationsPI8e9edc6cc867-25405-41384778
