They are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with a strong estimating background to join their dynamic bid team, contributing to shaping winning proposals and ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects.
The Role
- Collaborate closely with the bid team to understand requirements and translate them into achievable timescales for estimates.
- Develop high-impact, cost-effective estimates for services and products to support customer proposals.
- Support customer and supplier fact-finding exercises related to cost bases and estimates.
- Contribute to bid review processes, articulating the basis and content of estimates professionally.
- Analyse build and support activity durations to inform future targets and drive process improvements.
- Track material costs and build times as designs evolve to determine true production costs.
What You'll Need
- Proven ability to create detailed Manufacturing Build Instructions, SOPs, and tooling/fixturing designs.
- Understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles and the transition from development to full-scale production.
- Experience using ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or Epicor to manage complex Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Experience in calculating resourcing profiles and ensuring the appropriate mix of skills.
- A qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent experience, is essential.
