Junior Cloud Software Engineer with Security Clearance

Overview What We’re Looking For As a Cloud Software Engineer at CyberPoint, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of cloud-based applications supporting mission-critical national security operations. You will work as part of a collaborative Agile team leveraging modern software development practices, DevOps tools, and cloud technologies to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable solutions.

This role is well suited for an early-career software engineer who has a foundation in Java development and is looking to expand their skills across cloud computing, DevOps, containerization, and modern application development while working alongside experienced engineers in a mission-focused environment. What You'll Do

• Develop, enhance, test, and maintain cloud-based software applications supporting mission-critical systems.
• Develop software using Java and other modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Participate in the full Agile software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with software engineers, cloud engineers, system administrators, and other technical teams to develop reliable and scalable solutions.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs and work with JSON-based data.
• Use Git or GitLab for source code management and collaborative software development.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and automated software development and deployment processes.
• Develop and support applications within cloud and containerized environments.
• Assist with troubleshooting, debugging, performance improvements, and resolution of software issues.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Support the integration of commercial and open-source technologies into mission applications.
• Document software designs, development activities, and technical processes.
• Continue developing technical skills in cloud computing, DevOps, containerization, and modern software engineering practices.
• Work within established Agile processes and mission-focused team structures while leveraging guidance from senior technical resources. This position is 100% onsite and requires an active TS/SCI+FSP Security Clearance. Qualifications What You’ll Need
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Active TS/SCI Security Clearance with current polygraph.
• At least 2 years of experience in software development/engineering or related technical experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field may be substituted for 2 years of experience.
• Acceptable technical fields include Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a similar technical discipline.
• Experience developing software using Java, either academically or professionally.
• Experience using Git or GitLab.
• A cloud certification is required and will be verified during the interview or offer process.
• Must possess one of the following cloud certifications:
• AWS Certified Developer – Associate
• AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional
• Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) What Will Set You Apart
• Experience with one or more of the following technologies is highly desired:
• Full-stack software development using Java and/or JavaScript.
• React or Vue.js.
• REST APIs and JSON.
• MongoDB.
• Docker and containerization.
• Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
• AWS or other cloud platforms.
• CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins.
• Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Agile software development methodologies.
• Cloud-native application development and architecture.
• DevOps practices and automated software deployment.
