Position: MDM Architect (Databricks)

Location: Remote

Type of Employment: 12+ Months Contract

Role Description:

We are seeking an experienced Master Data Management (MDM) Architect to design and implement enterprise-wide customer and company mastering solutions on a modern cloud data platform, preferably Databricks. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in identity resolution, customer 360 solutions, entity matching, hierarchy management, deduplication, and data governance.

This role will partner with business and technology teams to establish a trusted master data foundation across multiple source systems, enabling a unified view of customers, contacts, organizations, and relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Master Data Strategy & Architecture

• Define enterprise MDM architecture and target-state master data models.
• Design Customer, Contact, and Company master domains.
• Establish canonical data models and golden record strategies.
• Define survivorship, matching, merging, and stewardship processes.
• Design scalable MDM patterns leveraging Databricks Lakehouse architecture.

• Identity Resolution & Entity Matching
• Design and implement company identity resolution frameworks.
• Develop deterministic and probabilistic matching approaches.
• Resolve duplicate customer, company, and contact records across multiple source systems.
• Define business rules for entity consolidation and golden record creation.
• Implement trust scoring, confidence scoring, and survivorship rules.

Company Hierarchy & Relationship Modelling

• Design parent-subsidiary-ultimate parent hierarchy models.
• Build hierarchy management capabilities using internal and external reference data.
• Support corporate structure navigation and relationship intelligence use cases.
• Model complex relationships between companies, contacts, and business entities.

Data Governance & Data Quality

• Define data quality framework and KPIs.
• Establish stewardship workflows and remediation processes.
• Design data governance operating model, standards, and controls.
• Define monitoring, auditability, lineage, and data certification practices.
• Create operational runbooks for ongoing MDM support.

Databricks & Data Engineering Collaboration

• Work closely with Data Engineering teams to implement MDM capabilities on Databricks.
• Design Delta-based master data structures.
• Define data ingestion, enrichment, and mastering workflows.
• Leverage Unity Catalog and governance capabilities where applicable.
• Support performance optimization for large-scale mastering workloads.

Third-Party Data Enrichment

• Evaluate and integrate external enrichment providers such as:
• Dun & Bradstreet (D&B)
• ZoomInfo
• Similar entity resolution providers

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of data architecture and master data management experience.

• Fuzzy matching
• Probabilistic matching
• Graph-based relationship modeling
• Experience working with large-scale cloud data platforms.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
• Experience collaborating with business stakeholders and data governance teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Databricks Lakehouse Platform.
• Knowledge of:

• Experience implementing MDM capabilities without relying on traditional MDM products.
