Scientist III

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Scientist III for a contract position with a Pharmaceutical Company located in Ridgefield, CT. This is a 24+ month contract opportunity.

This role involves initiating and completing routine in vitro studies in an independent, efficient, and timely manner. The ideal candidate will design and execute non-routine cell-based in vitro and biochemical assays, applying a deep understanding of the drug discovery and development process. This position includes a recurring weekend commitment of approximately 2-4 hours to support business operations.

Responsibilities:

• Initiate and complete routine in vitro studies independently, interpret outcomes, and propose follow-up actions
• Design and execute non-routine cell-based in vitro and biochemical assays based on literature analyses
• Independently apply basic scientific principles, perform literature searches, and extract relevant information
• Operate and maintain lab equipment, and troubleshoot effectively
• Propose new experiments and technologies based on scientific understanding and the drug discovery process
• Communicate and defend work effectively both orally and in writing, including protocols, procedures, and technical reports
• Report and treat data with a high level of integrity and ethics, maintaining accurate electronic lab notebooks
• Comply with applicable regulations and perform all work in a safe manner

Requirements:

• Master's Degree with 3+ years' experience in a related scientific discipline OR Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years' experience in a related scientific discipline
• Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO experience is highly desirable
• Non-PhD applicant required
• Experience in aseptic mammalian tissue culture techniques and basic molecular biology techniques including nucleic acid extraction, RT-PCR, Western Blot, ELISA, and transfection
• Proven problem-solving ability and eagerness to learn
• Proficiency with computers and data analysis software such as Microsoft Excel and GraphPad Prism
• Ability and willingness to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills for concise and accurate reporting of technical data

Desired skills:

• Experience in human pluripotent stem cell culture

Pay range: up to $53.16 per hour
