The Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our small, hands-on finance team. You will own the accounts receivables process across PMC's business lines, creating accurate invoices and keeping receivables current. Additionally, you will support expense reporting. As you grow, the role can expand into accounts payable, payroll support, and other accounting areas.

This is a fully remote, full-time position reporting to the Accounting Manager and working closely with our VP of Finance. You will partner regularly with project managers and practice area leaders at PMC, and engage client accounting teams - clear communication matters as much as accuracy.

What You'll Do

Billing and invoicing

•      Pull and review employee hours from Paycom to prepare client invoices in QuickBooks.

•      Prepare a variety of invoice types across all business lines, including digital reality, industrial engineering, simulation, staffing, and steel detailing.

•      Work with project managers and practice area Directors to confirm billable hours, rates, and contract terms before invoices go out.

•      Investigate and resolve discrepancies between hours, project records, and invoices.

Accounts receivable

•      Apply customer payments accurately and on time.

•      Make collections calls and send follow-ups on past-due accounts, keeping notes on customer communications.

•      Prepare and maintain AR aging reports and flag accounts that need attention.

•      Respond to customer billing questions and help resolve disputes.

Employee expenses

•      Process approved expenses and code them correctly, including expenses billable to clients.

Growth areas

•      Support accounts payable, payroll, and month-end tasks as the role develops.

•      Help improve billing and collections processes as the company grows.

What You Bring

•      Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

•      At least 2 years of accounting, billing, or accounts receivable experience.

•      Working knowledge of Excel, including sorting, filtering, and basic formulas.

•      Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numbers and deadlines.

•      Clear, professional communication, including on collections calls.

•      Ability to work independently and stay organized in a remote setting.

Nice to Have

•      Hands-on QuickBooks experience.

•      Experience in professional services, consulting, or project-based billing.

•      Familiarity with Paycom or a similar timekeeping and payroll system.
