Job Description
K&S Tire Recycling is seeking an experienced, hands-on Human Resources Manager to oversee HR operations for our transportation, warehouse, and industrial recycling departments.
The ideal candidate is a confident HR professional with strong employee relations, Illinois employment law, workplace investigations, and compliance experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage hiring, onboarding, employee relations, discipline, and terminations.
- Conduct workplace investigations and maintain accurate documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Illinois and federal employment laws.
- Oversee employee files, handbook policies, and performance management.
- Coordinate DOT/FMCSA driver documentation and safety compliance.
- Review payroll, compensation agreements, attendance, and wage practices.
- Manage workers' compensation administration and employee claims.
- Partner with management to improve accountability and employee retention.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience.
- Experience in transportation, manufacturing, logistics, or industrial operations.
- Strong knowledge of Illinois employment laws and HR compliance.
- Proven experience handling investigations, discipline, and terminations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain strict confidentiality.
Preferred: SHRM/PHR certification, Paychex experience, DOT/FMCSA knowledge, and bilingual English/Spanish skills.
