Senior Principal AI Architect- Health Payer
Introduction:
This role involves leading the design and implementation of AI solutions for a healthcare payer organization. The Senior Principal AI Architect will be responsible for developing enterprise-scale architectures, AI platform blueprints, governance frameworks, and optimizing cost and performance strategies. They will work closely with key stakeholders to translate business objectives into technical solutions, drive data management strategies for AI model development, and articulate the business impact of AI solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop Enterprise AI Reference Architecture
- Create AI Platform Blueprint (Azure, Foundry, hybrid)
- Establish AI Governance & Risk Framework
- Evaluate Models & Agents Framework
- Define AI Engineering Standards
- Design Multi-Agent System Architecture
- Optimize Cost & Performance Strategies
- Architect AI Solutions for major initiatives
- Translate business and technical requirements into architectural blueprints
- Support data strategy for AI solution training, testing, and deployment
- Guide AI solution development across products, services, projects, and systems
- Lead evaluation, design, and analysis for AI solutions architecture
- Develop data management strategies for AI model development
- Present AI solutions to stakeholders and technical audiences
Requirements:
Required Skills:
- Bachelor''''s Degree in a related field with 10 years of relevant work experience OR 14 years total relevant work experience
- Expertise in cloud architecture, data platforms, ML/AI systems, security, and governance
- Strong understanding of LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, RAG, fine-tuning, agents, tooling, observability
- Experience influencing CIO/CDO-level strategy
- Knowledge of workflow and pipeline architectures of ML and deep learning workloads
- Ability to design enterprise-scale architectures with high-risk data (PHI, PII)
- Experience in software development and coding in various languages (C#, python, .NET, Java etc.)
- Healthcare IT experience
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with AI techniques such as natural-language processing (NLP), computer vision, deep learning tools (PyTorch, TensorFlow), and AI/ML libraries
- Knowledge of healthcare payer business processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Diplomacy and interpersonal skills
- Experience in product management and agile methodologies
