A bit about the role
We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Platform team. This is a hands-on individual-contributor role for someone who sits genuinely in the middle, real infrastructure ownership and application development.
Our Platform team exists to accelerate the rest of engineering. As our product teams build out Immutable Audience, our job is to make them faster and safer, removing toil, clearing blockers, and building the paved roads and self-service tooling that let teams ship without reinventing the foundations each time. It's a broad remit. In any given cycle you might be extending our internal Kubernetes operator (written in Go) that provisions services and their supporting AWS resources from a single manifest, improving our observability patterns, hardening reliability, or helping a team choose and integrate a new piece of technology.
You'll work across the full stack of how we run software, a primarily AWS environment on EKS, GCP powering our data and CDP platform, Terraform, GitOps with Flux, and a Go backend. You'll own things end to end, set your own priorities with light direction, and have real influence over decisions that we'll build on for years. We're back in a scrappy scale-up phase, so there's a lot of room to shape foundations rather than inherit them.The team is Sydney-based and in the office three days a week.
