The Role

SMEC is seeking an experienced Senior Team Administrator to join our Roads & Highways team on the Sunshine Coast. This role is ideal for a highly capable administrator who enjoys working in a fast paced professional services environment and acting as a trusted support resource for project teams and leaders. You will provide high level administrative and project support while helping drive consistency, efficiency, and best practice across team operations and project delivery activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering senior level administrative support to team leaders and project managers.
  • Coordinating project administration activities across multiple projects.
  • Managing complex documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communications.
  • Supporting project financial administration, including invoicing, forecasting support, and project tracking.
  • Assisting with resource coordination, meeting management, and team operations.
  • Preparing professional reports, submissions, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Maintaining project governance, compliance, and quality documentation.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve administrative processes and team efficiencies.
  • Mentoring and providing guidance to junior administrative staff where required.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years' experience in a senior administration, project administration, or team support role.
  • Previous experience within engineering, construction, infrastructure, consulting, or professional services environments.
  • Exceptional organisational and coordination skills.
  • Strong financial and project administration capabilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.
  • A proactive mindset with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
