Title: Senior ZFS Storage Engineer – OpenZFS / TrueNAS
Location: San Francisco, CA / Remote
Rate: $40/hr. on W2

Job Description:

Seeking an experienced Storage Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in ZFS/OpenZFS for enterprise storage environments. The ideal candidate will design, configure, optimize, and troubleshoot high-performance, highly available storage systems.

Key Skills:

  • Strong expertise in ZFS/OpenZFS, TrueNAS Enterprise, FreeBSD/Linux.
  • Experience with zpools, vdevs, ARC, L2ARC, ZIL/SLOG, compression, and snapshots.
  • Storage performance tuning, capacity planning, and I/O troubleshooting.
  • ZFS replication, snapshots, backup, disaster recovery, and pool recovery.
  • Experience with HA storage, multipath I/O (MPIO), and degraded array recovery.
  • Knowledge of NFS, SMB/CIFS, iSCSI, and NVMe-oF.
  • Hands-on experience with SAS/SATA/NVMe, HBAs, JBODs, and 10GbE–100GbE networking.
