JOB DESCRIPTION

Project Description

Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked or Internet-related computer programs. Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications. Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.

Duties/Day to Day Overview

• Production support – LARGE search environment

• Maintenance, visualizations, working cross functionally with ecomm and other teams
• Adding to clusters, breaking them out

• Innovate in ProdOps every single day
• Work closely with many teams across the org in order to improve search breaking out clusters and constantly making improvements.
• Authors, reviews and approves technical designs
• Mastery of domain programming language
• Engineers extensible solutions with the team in mind and can fix complex bugs
• Reviews code to ensure it is functionally correct and consistent with the technical design
• Accountable for domain dependencies and critical paths
• Accountable for complex stories and integration or business requirements
• Accountable for domain dependencies and critical paths
• Anticipates risks and provides contingency solutions and timelines
• Defines useful metrics and targets for domain
• Measurably improves processes and best practices to achieve goals

Top Requirements

(Must haves)

• DEEP knowledge of OpenSearch/Elasticsearch
• Will not be able to train them up – must come in with all experience and ready to dive in.
• Years of experience isn’t the biggest issues as long as they have the Open/Elastic Search background
• Tech Stack:

• Kibana
• Logsearch
• Grafana
• Kubernetes/Docker (Rancher)
• Linux OS (Command Line)
• Python
• Kafka/Logstash

• CI/CD pipeline is just maintenance, no building from scratch

Additional Qualification

(Nice to Haves)

• Security or Azure experience. Most of what they have is on-prem.
• Ansible Automation
• Retail experience
