Overview
The PeopleSoft Developer will support and maintain a highly customized PeopleSoft Financials 9.2 environment covering General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Asset Management (AM). Production support is the primary focus, with responsibility for troubleshooting application issues, resolving batch processing errors, supporting financial interfaces, and implementing approved corrections. This person will learn the existing environment and become the primary PeopleSoft technical resource, partnering with the functional administrator, business users, and other technical teams. The role also includes online enhancements and new development. Financial systems knowledge and an understanding of accounting processes are especially valuable, as the team does not have a dedicated business analyst.
Key Responsibilities

• Learn the organization’s PeopleSoft Financials environment, customizations, financial workflows, and existing technical processes.
• Own day-to-day technical production support, investigating incidents, reviewing logs and process output, identifying root causes, and implementing timely, approved resolutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot batch processing, including Process Scheduler jobs, Application Engine programs, SQR processes, reports, interfaces, and recurring financial processing.
• Use SQL to investigate data issues, analyze processing failures, and prepare approved data corrections or rollback scripts.
• Support financial interfaces, including bank and lockbox files, and resolve issues involving file formats, missing files, or failed processing.
• Develop, test, and implement enhancements across GL, AP, AR, and AM, including changes to components, pages, records, menus, PeopleCode, and related configuration.
• Develop and maintain Application Engine programs, SQR programs, queries, reports, interfaces, process definitions, and run controls.
• Work directly with the functional administrator and business users to understand needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Prepare technical specifications, test plans, implementation instructions, rollback procedures, and operational documentation.
• Perform unit testing and support integration, regression, and user acceptance testing while following established security, change management, and deployment standards.
• Coordinate with database, infrastructure, security, integration, and vendor teams on application issues, patches, upgrades, and environment maintenance.
• Provide occasional after-hours support for critical issues or planned maintenance; this is rarely needed.

Hard Requirements

• Hands-on PeopleSoft technical development experience, targeting 4–7 years, with flexibility based on relevant skills and experience.
• Working knowledge of PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Application Engine, and SQL.
• Ability to use SQL to investigate application and data issues and implement controlled corrections.
• Experience with PeopleSoft batch processing, Process Scheduler, process definitions, run controls, reports, or interfaces.
• Understanding of online PeopleSoft development, including components, pages, records, menus, and events.
• Ability to troubleshoot unfamiliar code and customizations, identify root causes, and document resolutions.
• Experience participating in development, testing, implementation, and application support activities.
• Ability to work directly with technical and nontechnical stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and escalate critical issues promptly.
• Ability to assume increasing technical ownership as knowledge of the environment develops.

Bonus / Preferred Qualifications

• Strong preference for PeopleSoft Financials 9.2 experience, particularly GL, AP, AR, or AM, with an understanding of the underlying accounting processes.
• Strong preference for hands-on production support experience, particularly troubleshooting financial applications and batch processing failures.
• SQR development and troubleshooting experience. Mike can provide training for someone with a strong foundation in the other core technologies.
• Experience supporting highly customized PeopleSoft environments.
• Oracle Database experience.
• Experience with Application Designer, Data Mover, Change Assistant, compare reports, and deployment packages.
• Experience with Integration Broker, Component Interfaces, web services, APIs, or file-based integrations.
• Experience with Fluid, BI Publisher, PS Query, or nVision.
• Familiarity with financial close activities, financial systems controls, audit requirements, secure coding, and segregation of duties.
• Familiarity with source control, ticketing, monitoring, enterprise scheduling, or automated deployment tools.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience.
