Lab Facilities Manager
Location: Sumner, Washington (Onsite)
Role Overview
An experienced Lab Facilities Manager is sought to manage the daily operations of a fast-paced R&D laboratory environment. This role is responsible for ensuring laboratory facilities, equipment, and workspaces are organized, compliant, properly maintained, and operating efficiently to support engineering and research teams. The position requires work at labs in Sumner and South Seattle.
Key Responsibilities
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Operations, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience: 5+ years of experience managing laboratory, engineering, testing, or product development facilities.
Technical Skills: Proven experience overseeing equipment calibration, preventive maintenance programs, and laboratory asset management. Experience managing equipment procurement, vendor relationships, and installation projects. Strong understanding of laboratory infrastructure, equipment lifecycles, and operational best practices. Experience using inventory management, asset tracking, or maintenance management systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard business applications.

Lab Facilities Manager

Role Overview
An experienced Lab Facilities Manager is sought to manage the daily operations of a fast-paced R&D laboratory environment. This role is responsible for ensuring laboratory facilities, equipment, and workspaces are organized, compliant, properly maintained, and operating efficiently to support engineering and research teams. The position requires work at labs in Sumner and South Seattle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations across one or more R&D laboratory spaces.
- Oversee equipment calibration programs, preventive maintenance schedules, and service contracts.
- Maintain calibration records and ensure test equipment remains compliant, operational, and available for use.
- Coordinate the procurement of laboratory equipment, tools, fixtures, furnishings, and operational supplies.
- Manage equipment installations, relocations, commissioning activities, and decommissioning processes.
- Partner with vendors, contractors, facilities teams, and internal stakeholders to support laboratory infrastructure projects.
- Develop and maintain inventory and asset management systems for laboratory equipment and consumable supplies.
- Lead laboratory organization initiatives, including equipment storage, workspace optimization, and implementation of 5S best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering and research teams to forecast equipment, infrastructure, and space requirements.
- Support laboratory expansion projects, renovations, facility upgrades, and capacity planning efforts.
- Create and maintain documentation related to laboratory equipment, operational procedures, and facility processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety protocols, environmental requirements, and laboratory operating standards.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve laboratory efficiency, equipment utilization, and overall operational effectiveness.

- Experience implementing Lean, 5S, continuous improvement, or operational excellence programs.
- Experience working in highly technical R&D environments supporting engineers, researchers, and scientists.
