Entry Level Accounting Specialist (Finance)

Job Description
This position is critical to the ministry of Sky Ranch and contributes directly to our mission of leading youth and families to know and follow Christ. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for data entry of accounts payable and accounts receivable related documents. This role ensures the accurate reporting and maintenance of accounting records.

Accounts Payable entry
Manage credit card expenses
Assist in accounts payable research and projects as needed
Back up for Bank Deposits for Fundraising, Operational and any miscellaneous entries or ACH payments
CT Recordkeeping to include accurate payments, account adjustments, and aging reports
Perform cost analysis and periodic management and operational reports. Maintain compliance with Sky Ranch’s employee policies and procedures. Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.

Bachelor’s degree with major in accounting is preferred or equivalent work experience. Minimum of two years of accounting experience. Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles. Proficient working knowledge and ability to use various office software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship building skills. Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.

Banks ability to perform tasks requiring action of muscles or groups of muscles and foot and/or hand-eye coordination, including keyboarding and data entry. Works indoors in normal office environment majority of the time. Little to no exposure to physical risks. Commitment to Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally. An active membership in a church whose spiritual beliefs are aligned with Sky Ranch’s Doctrinal Statement.

Must demonstrate annually a clear background check and review of child safety practices as required for camp accreditation by the American Camping Association. Possess personal spiritual discipline that models a proactive approach toward personal, spiritual, and relational health.
