The University of St.Gallen and its School of Management are inviting applications for a Full Professorship / Associate Professorship (Open Rank) in Data Management and Enterprise Systems. The new professorship will become part of the School of Management and strengthen the University's interdisciplinary activities at the interface of management, information systems, data science and computer science.

Tasks & Responsibilities

The successful candidate is expected to:

• Contribute to the School's teaching portfolio in core areas of Information Systems such as Data Management
• Convey scientific knowledge to students and have a significant impact on theory and practice according to the claim From insight to impact
• Play a key role in strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration between the School of Management and other schools, particularly the School of Computer Science
• Develop collaborative research initiatives
• Contribute to interdisciplinary teaching
• Strengthen partnerships with industry
• Attract competitive external research funding (e.g. SNF, Innosuisse, ERC, EU or industry collaborations)
• Contribute actively to the academic community and the governance of the University

Qualifications

We are seeking a colleague with internationally recognised expertise in one or more of the fields of Data Management, Enterprise Systems, Enterprise Architecture, or related areas.

The ideal candidate has:

• An internationally recognised track record of leading research in Information Systems, reflected in multiple publications in leading international journals (FT50)
• A strong pipeline of promising research projects
• A strong international academic network
• Close ties with industry
• Excellent teaching skills at all levels, including Executive Education

Candidates for a Full Professorship are expected to demonstrate:

• Internationally leading scholarly achievements
• Sustained success in attracting competitive external research funding
• Academic leadership
• A broad contribution to the development of their field
