The Role

• Support an individual with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and mild/moderate learning disabilities in their new home and local community.
• Assist with daily living skills, including cooking, cleaning, and personal care.
• Facilitate community engagement by arranging and accompanying on outings and activities.
• Develop the individual's life skills, personal interests, and independence.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, understanding the importance of communication and specific language strategies.
• Maintain accurate digital records and contribute to service monitoring.

What You'll Need

• Experience supporting individuals with autism and PDA.
• Patience, resilience, and understanding, with a consistent approach to support.
• Effective communication skills, particularly in adapting language to be enabling.
• Passion, empathy, and enthusiasm for making a positive difference.
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, sleep-ins, and weekends.
• Ability to complete physical aspects of the role, including manual handling, and to work effectively as part of a team.
