Role: Linux System Support Engineer

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong Linux administration (RHEL 8/9).
• Deep networking knowledge (routing, firewalls, protocols).
• Proficient in Python for automation and backend support.
• Experience with:
• Cron scheduling and optimization
• Server monitoring and troubleshooting
• High-throughput systems (Kafka, pipelines)
• Certificate management (SSL/TLS)
• API authentication (OAuth)
• Awareness of Snowflake behavior and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support VMs running cron jobs for KPI collection.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues including CPU spikes, memory/swap exhaustion, and disk utilization.
• Optimize cron scheduling and server monitoring to improve performance and reliability.
• Support backend services hosting APIs, frontend UI, and data processing pipelines.
• Handle high-throughput systems consuming Kafka messages.
• Manage file staging and ingestion pipelines into Snowflake.
• Administer SSL certificates for frontend services and OAuth authentication for APIs.
• Collaborate with infra teams on migration planning and execution (OpenShift/Kubernetes).
• Provide system-level troubleshooting for Snowflake timeouts and integrations.
• Ensure secure and efficient operations across routing, firewalls, and protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Experience supporting large-scale telecom or network environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
