Job Title: Senior SQL / Data Engineer - Oracle Financials & FAH
Location: New York, NY (Onsite)

Duties:
We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL / Data Engineer to support the development and operation of financial accounting data pipelines within an Oracle Financials and Financial Accounting Hub (FAH) environment.

The ideal candidate is a strong hands-on developer with deep SQL expertise and experience designing transformations, building data pipelines, implementing data quality controls, and troubleshooting complex financial data issues.
Our primary technology stack includes SQL, Snowflake, Python, Oracle Database, Unix/Linux, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), and Control-M.

Skills:
Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of software/data engineering experience, with significant hands-on SQL development experience.
  • Advanced hands-on knowledge of SQL, including complex transformations and large-volume data processing.
  • Strong experience designing and developing data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake preferred.
  • Strong experience working with Oracle Database and PL/SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with Python for data processing, validation, automation, or pipeline development.
  • Experience working within Unix/Linux environments, including shell scripting.
  • Experience designing and implementing data quality, reconciliation, and exception-management frameworks.
  • Experience supporting production data pipelines, including troubleshooting, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience working with financial/accounting systems and an understanding of financial transaction processing.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Financials, particularly GL, SLA, and/or FAH.
  • Ability to analyze complex data issues across multiple systems and trace transactions from source through downstream accounting processing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical teams and finance/accounting stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting applications within banking, capital markets, trading, or enterprise finance environments.
  • Experience integrating external transaction systems into Oracle Financials or FAH.
  • Experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).
  • Experience with Control-M scheduling and batch orchestration.
  • Experience implementing metadata-driven data quality or transformation frameworks.
  • Experience with financial reconciliation and accounting control frameworks.
  • Experience with high-volume financial datasets and daily accounting/batch-processing cycles.

Desired Attributes:

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, particularly when working through complex data lineage and reconciliation issues.
  • Able to translate functional or finance requirements into technical transformation and validation logic.
  • Comfortable working directly with FAH functional experts, accounting SMEs, integration teams, and production-support teams.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating across multiple technology and business teams.

Education:

  • College Degree in Computer Science Preferred
