Head of Direct & Customer Lending On-Site
Quick Overview
Job Description
At MyState, we're proud to be part of something bigger than banking. We're a purpose-driven Australian organisation with deep community roots, committed to helping people, businesses, and local communities thrive.
We're a growing Australian bank with real ambition, expanding our direct lending capability and challenging how home lending is delivered. This is an opportunity to step into a role where you won't just lead a function, you'll shape it, grow it, and leave a visible mark on the business.
If you're a commercially driven leader who thrives on building momentum, leading from the front, and turning opportunity into results, this is your kind of role.
Location: Brisbane, Bundaberg or Hobart
The OpportunityAs Head of Direct & Customer Lending, you'll lead and grow our direct-to-consumer home lending business, owning strategy, performance, and results end-to-end.
This isn't a steady-state leadership role. It's about creating energy, lifting performance, and driving growth in a competitive market.
You'll:
- Own the P&L, growth strategy, and performance of the direct lending channel
- Build and execute initiatives that generate leads, improve conversion, and accelerate growth
- Lift capability across a team of 45 in Brisbane, Bundaberg or Hobart, embedding a sales-led, customer-focused culture
- Improve the way we work; simplifying processes, lifting digital capability, and enhancing customer experience
- Partner across the business to unlock new opportunities and expand our footprint
Success in this role will come from your ability to combine commercial instinct with disciplined execution, bringing both pace and structure to how the business grows.
What You'll BringWe're looking for a leader who brings energy, ownership, and a genuine drive to win.
You'll likely have:
- Proven experience leading high-performing sales or lending teams in financial services
- A strong track record of delivering growth, building pipelines, lifting conversion, and achieving revenue targets
- The ability to create momentum and accountability, setting a clear standard for performance
- Commercial acumen, with experience owning or influencing P&L outcomes
- Confidence operating in a regulated environment, balancing growth, risk, and customer outcomes
- A leadership style that coaches, challenges, and brings people with you
- Be based in either Brisbane, Bundaberg or Hobart
Most importantly, you're someone who sees opportunity and leans in to build, improve, and grow.
Why Join UsYou'll join a business where:
- You have real ownership and influence, not layers of hierarchy
- Your impact is visible and valued, with the ability to shape strategy and outcomes
- We back our people with flexible work options, wellbeing support, and genuine career growth opportunities
- You're part of a team working together for the better, for customers, communities, and each other
This is a role for someone motivated by impact, growth, and the chance to build something better.
