Data Engineer | Chantilly, VA, United States | Hybrid

We're hiring on behalf of a well-established organization that is a leader in its field, seeking a motivated Data Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial for designing, ingesting, cleansing, transforming, loading, and displaying significant amounts of data to support critical projects. The Role

  • Design, implement, and optimize data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and loading systems within a Big Data environment.
  • Develop custom solutions to ingest and leverage new and existing data sources.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to build data pipelines for AI/ML workflows.
  • Organize and maintain comprehensive Data Layer documentation for team understanding and utilization.
  • Optimize the entire data lifecycle, from initial planning through final display.
  • Work with teammates, vendors, and users to create and implement more efficient data methods.

What You'll Need

  • High School Diploma with 4+ years of relevant data engineering, software development, or programming experience.
  • Proven experience with data analysis, parsing, and programming languages (e.g., Python, Java) alongside strong SQL/database skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, EJB, JDBC, Spring, and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with data pipelining systems (e.g., Apache Airflow) and ETL processes in a Linux environment.
  • Demonstrated experience across the full data lifecycle, from ingest to display, in a Big Data setting.
  • An active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance is required.
