Instruction and Research Services Librarian

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):

• Teaches up to two sections of Introduction to Legal Research, a required course in the first year of the J.D. program;

• Supports the scholarly research of law faculty members;

• Provides legal reference to the University of Tulsa community, including faculty members, students, staff, and alumni, as well as attorney members of the Mabee Legal Information Center;

• Delivers legal research instruction in library-sponsored workshops and as an invited guest lecturer in doctrinal courses, seminars, and clinics;

• Creates and updates research guides tailored to meet the needs of the College of Law;

• Oversees maintenance of the faculty scholarship portion of Scholarship @ UTulsa Law, the Mabee Legal Information Center’s institutional repository;

• Participates in collection development;

• Engages in professional development activities such as scholarship and service; and

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Federal Indian and Tribal law research methods and sources;

• Knowledge of energy law research methods and sources; and/or

• Knowledge of and experience teaching emerging legal technologies.

• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds of materials;

• Ability to stand or sit for long periods; and

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work responsibly with sensitive information.
