Engineering Lead - Medical Devices

The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a premier innovation-driven medical technology growth company as they expand their footprint in Austin, Texas. This organization is dedicated to developing clinically differentiated solutions that improve patient outcomes and transform clinical workflows within orthopedics and beyond. They are seeking an Engineering Lead to provide multidisciplinary leadership for next-generation orthopedic technologies, guiding systems from initial concept through full commercialization.

What You'll Do

• Spearhead system-level technical direction for advanced multidisciplinary enabling technologies, overseeing system architecture, tracking, interfaces, instrumentation, and control functions.

• Orchestrate technical execution that translates clinical user needs into complete medical device products by defining subsystem interactions and performance requirements.

• Partner with Clinical, Product Management, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, and Program Management teams to align business objectives with executable technical architectures.

• Navigate regulatory and quality compliance throughout the product lifecycle to guarantee adherence to major medical device standards.

• Mitigate technical risks across hardware, software, algorithms, and workflows while directing verification, validation, usability engineering, and design transfer.

• Coach multidisciplinary engineering squads to cultivate a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and rigorous practices.

• Evaluate emerging innovations in Augmented Reality, Navigation, AI, sensors, and automation to shape future product pipelines.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• 5 to 15 years of professional experience developing complex medical devices or related advanced technology products.

• Proven leadership background managing multidisciplinary engineering teams through complex product lifecycles.

• Strong technical background in Systems Engineering, integrating software, electronics, mechanical hardware, and advanced algorithms.

• Solid working knowledge of medical device Design Controls, technical risk management, Verification And Validation, and lifecycle management.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport for international business travel as needed.

Compensation & Total Rewards

• Annual salary ranging from $130,000 to $160,000 USD

• 10% annual bonus

• Relocation assistance provided
