Job Description

The role

An established renewable energy business is looking for an experienced Service Engineer to join its team in Worcestershire.

You'll service and maintain solar PV, battery storage and EV charging systems, diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs, inverter replacements, testing and commissioning. You'll take ownership of service jobs from initial diagnosis through to completion, working independently and liaising with customers and manufacturers' technical teams to find effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Service and maintain solar PV and battery storage systems
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, communication and system faults across solar, battery and EV charging installations
  • Carry out remedial work, repairs and inverter replacements, including configuration and commissioning
  • Test systems, interpret results and verify safe, correct operation
  • Liaise with manufacturers' technical support teams to investigate complex faults
  • Explain technical issues and proposed solutions clearly to customers
  • Keep accurate records of work completed, test results, faults and equipment replaced
  • Produce clear, professional service and technical reports
  • Ensure all work meets current electrical regulations and industry standards

About you

You'll be a fully qualified electrician with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and proven experience working with solar PV, EV or Battery storage systems. You'll also have experience with EV charging systems, inverter replacement and commissioning, and electrical testing.

You'll bring strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, be able to read electrical diagrams and system schematics, and feel confident managing your own workload. Good communication and report-writing skills are essential, as is a full UK driving licence.

Experience with Fox ESS, Sigenergy, Hanchu or GoodWe systems would be an advantage. Experience with other leading solar, battery and EV manufacturers will also be considered.

What's on offer

  • £38,000–£42,000 salary, depending on experience
  • Company van and fuel card
  • 5 weeks' paid holiday plus bank holidays
  • Pension scheme enrolment
  • Monday to Friday working hours, 8:00am–4:30pm
  • Varied, technically challenging work with the latest solar, battery and EV technologies
  • Opportunities for continued professional development in the renewable energy sector

If you're an experienced electrician with a strong technical background in renewable energy, we'd like to hear from you. Get in touch to discuss the role.
