Job Description

The Receiving Inspector will support the various projects located in Severn, Maryland (21144) This is a challenging and rewarding position with a mission to support the manufacturing of air and space-based RF systems in our Severn Operations of Lockheed Martin. This opportunity involves working closely with the Engineering and Manufacturing team to build prototypes, support New Product Integration (NPI) and productions builds.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspects purchased parts && materials for conformance to specifications.
  • Examines electronic components like bare boards, COTS items and items fabricated to inhouse drawings for defects in materials, work, and damage occurring in transit, inspects and measures items for dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and functional operation, according to prints, parts manuals, company standards, and other specifications.
  • Reviews supplier certifications, packing sli ps test reports to ensure compliance with Lockheed Martin flow down requirements.
  • Identify, label, and document defective, damaged, or non-conforming materials.
  • Provide direct Quality Assurance ownership and oversite of Receiving Inspection labs.
  • Participate in regular MRBs (material review board) to ensure nonconforming material/process is appropriately handled.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • This position requires a Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain one; must be a US citizen.
  • Must have a High School or equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of 5+ years of recent quality assurance work experience in a receiving inspection environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and blueprints.
  • Good understanding of AS9100 standard and support with internal && external audits as required.
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement equipment (e.g., cali pers, micrometers).
  • High level of accuracy in identifying defects and maintaining records.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.

DESIRED

  • Previous work experience in Aerospace, NASA and/or FAA programs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to tailor level of effort based on customer requirements and expectations.
  • Works independently with limited supervision WORK LOCATION:
  • This position is located onsite and offers a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off; some travel may be required.
  • Schedules are subject to change based on the requirements of the position and/or customer needs.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED: All Bastion employees must be able to pass a national agency check and some positions require clearance and will require an extensive background verification/check process.

DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING REQUIRED: All Bastion employees must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and are required to participate in periodic random drug and alcohol screenings.

  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.

  • Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.
  • Able to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.
  • Must be organized with good time management skills and must be able to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
  • Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time) and may require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
  • Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.

SALARY RANGE: $22.00/hour to $36.88/hour, hourly rate will depend on education and experience.
