Tittle – Senior Kafka / Integration Developer

Location – Benton Harbor, MI 49022  (Remote)  

 

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Kafka / Integration Developer with strong hands-on experience in Confluent Kafka, Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and support event-driven integrations and cloud-native integration solutions across an enterprise integration ecosystem.

The role will work closely with SAP, Cloud, Architecture, and DevOps teams to modernize legacy integrations and build scalable, reliable event-driven solutions using Confluent Cloud, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes/GKE, and Spring Boot.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop event-driven integrations using Apache Kafka / Confluent Kafka.
• Administer, configure, monitor, and support Kafka services on Confluent Cloud.
• Create and manage Kafka topics, partitions, consumer groups, and configurations.
• Design, develop, and support integrations using the Kafka Connect framework.
• Develop and maintain SAP connectors / SAP-Kafka integrations.
• Design and develop enterprise API backends using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Build Kafka-based event integration solutions following Event-Driven Architecture principles.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs and cloud-native services.
• Support the migration and modernization of legacy integration solutions.
• Deploy and support applications across Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes/GKE environments.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines, Git/BitBucket, automated testing, and deployment processes.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, UAT support, production deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, SAP teams, Cloud teams, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Provide production support, root-cause analysis, performance tuning, and issue resolution.

 

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Confluent Kafka.
• Experience administering and supporting Confluent Cloud.
• Strong knowledge of Kafka topics, partitions, consumer groups, producers, and consumers.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka Connect Framework.
• Experience with SAP Kafka Connectors / SAP integrations.
• Strong development experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience building and supporting Microservices.
• Strong understanding of Event-Driven Architecture and asynchronous integrations.
• Experience with REST APIs and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform cloud services.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes / GKE.
• Experience with Git / BitBucket and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, UAT, deployment, and production support.
