Job description
The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Geotechnical Engineer to join a growing multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy with 3 years experience.
The position is based in Midands and would suit an experienced geotechnical professional looking to broaden their technical expertise, take greater responsibility for project delivery and develop their career within a busy and expanding team.
You will provide geotechnical support across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial, industrial and public-sector developments, helping clients unlock development sites and deliver practical, technically robust solutions.
The role combines geotechnical design, ground investigation, technical reporting, project management and client liaison, alongside the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continued growth of the team.
About the Consultancy
The employer is an established multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy delivering services to private and public-sector clients across the UK.
Projects span residential, commercial, industrial, retail, leisure, education and healthcare developments.
The business provides a collaborative environment where engineers are encouraged to take responsibility for their own projects, develop their technical capability and work closely with experienced senior professionals across multiple engineering and environmental disciplines.
The Role
As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will manage and support projects from initial desk study and ground investigation through to detailed geotechnical assessment and design.
You will undertake technical analysis, prepare high-quality reports, drawings and calculations, coordinate with clients and statutory bodies and support the delivery of projects to agreed programme and budget requirements.
The role will also involve site visits and supervision of investigation works, with travel throughout the UK where required.
As your experience develops, you will have the opportunity to take greater responsibility for client relationships, project management, mentoring junior staff and supporting business development.
Key Responsibilities:
Geotechnical Design & Analysis
We are seeking a motivated Geotechnical Engineer with a minimum of three years experience across geotechnical site investigation, analysis, design and technical reporting.
You should have a strong understanding of soil behaviour and ground conditions, combined with practical experience of geotechnical design and ground investigation.
The successful candidate will be confident producing technical reports and calculations, communicating with clients and working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
You should be organised, commercially aware and keen to take greater responsibility for project delivery while continuing to develop your technical expertise.
Essential Requirements
The employer is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive working environment where individuals from all backgrounds are welcomed, respected and able to develop their careers.
