Human Resources and Payroll Clerk
Summary
The Human Resources and Payroll Clerk is a dual-role position which handles the accurate, on-time processing of semi-monthly payroll while supporting other HR functions to keep operations running smoothly. This position works closely with the HR Manager and the HR Specialist to improve efficiencies, handle clerical functions of the department, maintains strict confidentiality and performs other related task deemed appropriate.

Essential Functions
Manage and process semi-monthly disbursement of payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes to employees
Troubleshoot all payroll related employee issues/timecard issues
Ensure the processing of new hires, promotions and terminations is accurate and timely
Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement best practice operations
Responsible for developing and maintaining employee data reports for various departments
Provides customer service and support to the employees
Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements
Support all internal and external audits related to HR and payroll
Assist with ADP Portal updates
Complete employment verifications as needed
Assist with maintaining personnel files (paper files and uploading into employee files in ADP)
Responsible for monthly anniversary card labels and mailings
Performs other HR duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience
Associates Degree or Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree
1-2 years in Human Resources department, preferred but not required
1-2 years of experience working in ADP Workforce Now required
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities
Proficiency in MS Office
Exemplary attendance is required
Must have a valid Louisiana Driver’s License and Insurance

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit, use hands, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee can sometimes be exposed to weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Other Duties
