Interim Senior Procurement Business Analyst

Your new company
A respected public sector and not-for-profit organisation is seeking an experienced Procurement Transformation Consultant / Senior Business Analyst to support a high-profile procurement improvement programme. Operating within a complex stakeholder environment and governed by public procurement regulations, the organisation is investing in the development of its procurement operating model, processes, contract visibility and future digital capabilities. This is a predominantly remote assignment with occasional travel required for stakeholder workshops, discovery sessions and key programme milestones.

Your new role
As Senior Procurement Business Analyst, you will work closely with procurement, finance and operational stakeholders to build a comprehensive understanding of current procurement activity and identify opportunities for improvement. The role will focus on establishing baseline information, documenting current processes and designing recommendations that support future procurement development and service enhancement.

• Mapping end-to-end procurement processes and user journeys
• Analysing procurement spend and developing spend insights
• Building procurement segmentation models and service frameworks
• Developing procurement pipeline visibility and demand reporting
• Conducting contract discovery activities and ownership mapping
• Facilitating stakeholder workshops and validation sessions
• Producing future-state process designs and recommendations
• Supporting procurement technology assessments and improvement initiatives
• Developing implementation roadmaps and business improvement opportunities

The initial programme of work will focus on creating robust procurement foundations, improving decision making data and enhancing visibility across procurement activity, contracts and future demand.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Business Analyst with strong procurement knowledge and a background working within public sector, higher education, not-for-profit, regulated or similar environments.

• Strong understanding of public procurement regulations and governance
• Previous experience supporting procurement improvement programmes
• Excellent business analysis and process mapping capabilities
• Strong experience gathering requirements and facilitating workshops
• Advanced analytical skills, including spend and data analysis
• Experience documenting current and future-state processes
• Contract discovery, contract management or supplier management exposure
• Ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders across multiple functions
• Strong reporting, documentation and presentation skills

Experience of procurement systems, digital procurement tools, service design or AI-enabled solutions would be advantageous
