Description
Team SAIC is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Organizational Messaging System (OMS) System Administrator to join our team at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. This role is responsible for the daily operation, administration, monitoring, and maintenance of mission-critical defense and enterprise organizational messaging platforms. This role ensures secure, high-availability message routing across classified and unclassified government networks (including SIPRNET and TIPRNET).
The successful candidate will blend specialized messaging gateway expertise with core Windows systems administration, virtualization management, enterprise monitoring, and IT Service Management (ITSM) workflows within a high-tempo Network Operations Center (NOC) or Gateway Operations environment.
Responsibilities:

• Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise organizational messaging platforms, such as Automated Message Handling System (AMHS), Enhanced Communications Gateway System (ECGS), SYNDEO Intelligent Gateway (SIG), Information Transport Systems (ITS), and Cross Domain Solutions (CDS).
• Oversee high-volume, global message routing, queue processing, validation, and delivery across joint service endpoints, combatant commands, and external mission partners.
• Manage Message Conversion Systems (MCS) and Communications Data Format Converters (CDC) to translate legacy tactical messaging protocols into modern organizational formats.
• Monitor message queues to identify, isolate, and remediate message stalls, format errors, delivery delays, and routing table misconfigurations.
• Maintain and secure physical and virtual server environments running Windows Server 2019 and 2022.
• Perform core identity and directory administration, including Active Directory (AD), account provisioning, and role-based access control.
• Coordinate hardware maintenance, volume allocation, disk space cleanups, cache clearings, and KVM/console connectivity.
• Continuously monitor infrastructure and application health utilizing enterprise observability tools such as Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
• Serve as a Tier II / Tier III technical escalation point for messaging and server-related incidents, handling escalations from Tier I operations desks.
• Track, manage, and resolve tickets using enterprise ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow)
• Coordinate incident resolution and operational failover procedures with partner agencies, circuit providers (e.g., DISA), and watch commanders/Battle Captains.
• Document system changes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), knowledge base articles, and incident root-cause analysis (RCA) reports.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, or related technical field.
• Experience: 5+ years of systems administration experience, with at least 3 years dedicated to enterprise secure messaging gateways, defense communications, or mission-critical operations centers.
• This position requires an active DOD Top Secret (TS) clearance.
• Possess DoD 8570.01-M/DoD 8140 Certification IAW established mandate prior to start of work - IAT Level II required (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP); IAT Level III is desirable (CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH). Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
